Tournament M13 junior of the 64th Nations Cup “Challenge André Wider”
For its first edition, this international tournament junior gains one big hit.
The 4 teams present profited a maximum of the infrastructure of the Coupe des Nations and the possibilities to be with the best players of roll hockey of the moment.
The Italian' juniors of Novara 3000, Spanish of Reus Deportiu, French of the Rhône-Alpes Selection and Swiss of Montreux knew strong moments in emotions, in particular at the time of the closing ceremony into which they were integrated.
During the competition, the Italians dominated their competitors by gaining the 3 matches they disputed. The Youngest children of Reus Deportiu follow them closely, with 2 victories, while raising that the Spaniards are for the majority one year young people (1999) that the Italians (1998 and 1999). The French beat Montreusiens at the time of their first meeting. The juniors C of Montreux Hockey with Patrick Roduit for coach for this oppotunity could live a rich personal experiment who could encourage them to persevere and continue roller-hockey. |

Portugal remains Coupe des Nations Champion
Portugal won the 64th edition of the Coupe des Nations. The Portuguese team defeated Spain in the final here in Montreux on Sunday (2-1). Portugal was the defending champion, while Spain is the World Champions.
The match between giants Portugal and Spain was the final the Coupe des Nations deserved. Portugal opened the score, while Spain equalized early in the second half. With just over five minutes to play, Portugal scored the winning goal.
Argentina finished third after a won over Angola after penalty shoot-outs France defeated host Montreux HC in the match for the fifth position. Germany finished seventh and Macao eight.

Portugal and Spain in final of Coupe des Nations
The 64th Coupe des Nation will see the classic final as Portugal will meet Spain here in Montreux on Sunday. In Saturday's semifinal action, Portugal defeated Angola 6-2, while Spain needed extra time against Argentina.
The match between Spain and Argentina was the match of the tournament so far. Argentina took the lead early in the second half, before Spain equalized with only four minutes to play. A golden goal in extra time gave Spain the victory.
Portugal had less troubles to overcome Angola and will be the favorite in the final. In the classification matches for the fifth to eight position, Montreux HC was stronger than Macao, while France won against Germany.

Argentina and Angola join Portugal and Spain in semifinals of Coupe des Nations
On day three of the 64th Coupe des Nations here in Montreux, Argentina and Angola secured their place in the semifinals. Argentina defeated France and will meet Spain on Saturday. Angola booked a monster victory over Macao, which was enough for a semifinal spot against Portugal.
In group A, Montreux HC booked its first victory of the tournament. The home crowd favorite won its encounter against Germany and will meet Macao in the classification match for the 5th to 8th position on Saturday.
The clash of the giants between Portugal and Spain finished in a Portuguese victory.

Spain and Portugal in semifinals of Coupe des Nations
Spain and Portugal entered the semifinals of the 64th Coupe des Nations rink-hockey in Montreux. On day two of the event here in Switzerland, Spain defeated Germany, while Portugal was stronger than host Montreux HC.
In group B action, Angola almost upset France. The African team was leading the entire match, but the French squad equalized just before the end of the match. The African team was never so close to such an important victory. The draw completely opens up group B, as now Argentina, France and Angola are competing for two semifinal spots.
Argentina had no problem to defeat Macao and only needs a draw against France on Friday to reach the Final Four.

Montreux HC close to surprise at Coupe des Nations
Montreux HC was very close to a surprise at the opening day of the Coupe des Nations, one of the world's most important roller hockey tournaments in the world. The home team was leading 3-1 against Spain, but finally lost 6-3 against the World Champion in the group A clash.
In other Wednesday group A action, Portugal defeated Germany 10-1. Like the other tournament favorite Spain, Portugal had some troubles in the first part of the match, leading just 2-1 at half time. In the second half, the Portuguese team overpowered its opponent.
France is the leader of group B after the first day. The French team nailed Macao 21-1. In the other group B match, Argentina was just stronger than Angola, who was the major surprise on day one of competition. The organizer of the 2011 World Championship finally won the match 7-5.
Action here in Montreux continues on Thursday with four more group matches scheduled. The final of the 64th Coupe des Nations will be played on Sunday 24 April 2011.
